SP House
The owners of SP House sought to shed its conventional “boxy” design and cold appearance. Hence, it was reinvented as a tropical sanctuary, featuring an abundance of local, vernacular materials and details including aged timber finish, wicker, terracotta flooring, teakwood and rattan furniture that has turned it into a resort-inspired, cosy home.
The landscape is curated to provide privacy and natural soundproofing from the outside. Tall dense trees canopying and barricading the private swimming pool area. A dramatic curved ceiling in the entrance foyer invites visitors and residents into the home, and towards the main living space. The open floor plan adds to the streamlined look and directs the gaze towards views of Gunung Jerai afforded by the windows.
